The short answer

Flood barriers and panels close off doors, sliders and garage openings before water arrives, but they do not make a home compliant with flood rules: under FEMA's NFIP only non-residential buildings in A zones may be dry floodproofed below base flood elevation, and no floodproofing is allowed in V zones. We fit them as an added layer, sized opening by opening.

Who this is for

Owners whose doors or garage sit close to the water level at king tides or in storm surge.

What we fit

  • Removable aluminium panels in side tracks
  • Barriers for garage openings
  • Seals and storage racks
  • A deployment plan so you can put them up quickly

What barriers can and cannot do

Barriers protect openings. They do not stop water rising through the ground, which Miami Beach notes comes up through porous limestone, and they do not replace elevation or flood vents under the NFIP.[2][1]

Frequently asked questions

How much do flood barriers cost?

We price by the width and height of each opening after measuring. We do not have a published South Florida price range we trust enough to quote here.

What is the most effective flood barrier for homes?

The one that fits the opening and gets deployed in time. Panels in fixed tracks are fast to put up; wider openings may need posts or garage-specific barriers.
